MAD MAXXX

  Friday 1 Nov 2024 - 10pm-6am // Studio 338, London

"My name is Max. My world is fire. And blood."

This Halloween (Friday 1st November), Fox&Badge invite you to an epic post-apocalyptic world of tribes and warriors, all on a wild high-octane journey through mayhem to redemption, inspired by George Miller’s 5 MadMax movies.

Come experience the thrill and awe of the Aussie outback Open Road; the Thunderdome, the Citadel, Gas Town, Bullet Farm, Refinery and Bartertown; & the refuge of the Oasis  and the Green Place

MadMaXXX explores the antithesis to Versailles - moving from an effeminate world of hyper-sophistication to a hyper-masculinised world of toughness and metal, transitioning from light to dark, white lace to black diesel, hyper-civilised order to furious chaos; luxury to ingenious survival. There’s no cake in the desert.

We’re delighted to finally be working with the epic venue, Studio 338 - which was originally London’s largest nightclub, meaning we’ll have lots of space to explore & stretch out in. It was originally launched with one aim: to bring Ibiza to London - & Ibiza’s arid soil is just that orange that we think of in the Mad Max movies.

Amidst all the apocalypse, we seek redemption, celebrating community and humanity - and how we all flourish when we move from solitary individualism into the collective and collaborative. We also celebrate the redemptive power of the grounded feminine, tempering the destructive anarchic violence of the wilderness, moral decay, and ecological collapse.

"I am the one that runs from both the living and the dead...
I exist in this wasteland, reduced to one instinct: survive."

  • Our ThunderDome dancefloor, powered by fire & diesel

  • Our pantheon of female Furiosas, playing driving melodic techno

  • Our hidden Space of Abundance, a refuge of gentler organic sounds

  • Our army of Aerialists, swinging through our skies

  • Our brigade of War Boys, erupting with fire-breathing performance

  • Our immersive bands of scavengers and survivors

  • Our Citadel of Sensuality - a sanctum for your senses

  • Our Tanctuary - or Sanctuary of Tantra - oasis of connection

  • Our Dungeon of Armageddon, testing your metal ;)

  • Our arsenal of all-powerful sound and light weaponry

  • & all kinds of other wild experiences, landscapes and fantasies

We are delighted to be working with WAX (after our joyous collaboration last year at Heaven) as our official partner and exclusive sponsor.

“Where must we go… We who wander this wasteland in search of our better selves?”

DRESS CODE: post-apocalyptic diesel-fuelled

doomsday DEBAUCHERY + fuel-injected FETISHISM

Road warrior or desert queen; gasoline baron or dust witch; scavenger lord or dust mistress; we welcome your raw, rusted glory and unbridled savagery. No vehicle too souped up!

Our prime reference and inspiration are the stunning, inventive, punk-industrial costumes of the Mad Max universe

Style: think body-armour, helmets, masks, metal, leather, chain, spikes, utility belts & accesories; smeared diesel grease; fierce tribal makeup; bare body parts

Palette: think black, brown, earthy; dark & dusty - ideally frayed, worn and distressed; fully post-apoc; DIY, makeshift, ramshackle, scavenged from war-zones and wastelands - yet always luscious and inventive

Characters to costume as might include: Jedediah the Pilot, Imperator Furiosa, Immortan Joe Moore, Glory the Child, Rictus Erectus, The Organic Mechanic, The People Eater, Nux, Splendid Angharad, Capable, The Dag, Toast the Knowing, Cheedo the Fragile, The Bullet Farmer, The Doof Warrior, Valkyrie, Chumbucket, Scabrous Scrotus etc.

This is a high-production, co-created arts & fetish event. We love sexy, wild creativity. We love intricate, elegant, crafted costumes. We especially love stuff you carefully and lovingly made; look out for our Costume Workshop, which we’ll hold a fortnight before the event.

Absolutely NO daywear, streetwear, businesswear, officewear, banal-wear, or anything off-theme will be allowed. NO T-shirts, shirts, slacks, sneakers - or anything ordinary you’d just wear down the street. If you are trying to figure out how to make this as easy and basic as possible, this is not the event for you.

  • To ensure the best experience for all guests, we ask that you and your guest(s) read and agree to our Code & Culture (in particular, the centrality of consent) before buying your ticket.

  • We celebrate expression over restriction, and take and share photographs of our nights. We always have several amazing professional photographers and videographers at our events to capture some of the magical moments we can’t possibly all experience at once. It is not practical or implementable for our crew to ask every guest in our many vast rooms for their explicit consent; please feel entitled to tell any photographers if you do not want to be filmed or photographed. Images of the night will be shared discreetly on our channels. We will of course instantly honour the request for removal or blurring of any photos you are not comfortable with; your privacy is paramount.

We kindly request our guests to leave their phones to the side as much as possible, not film the night, and simply be fully present; we will share all our beautiful professional photos & videos with our community immediately after the event. There are strictly no photos allowed in dungeons or of any intimate acts. If in doubt, ask. Please only photograph with the utmost consideration, awareness and respect.

  • We want to make our events as accessible as possible; to help us do this please email any questions and access requirements to foxandbadge@gmail.com. We will be as accommodating as possible. If you purchase a ticket to one of our events and it is not possible for you to queue, please email us to arrange faster access in advance.

Due to the shape of existing buildings and the immersive nature of our events, we may have areas that are unsuitable for those with specific access requirements.
