Join us for a costume-making workshop for Summer of Love on 23 June!
Summer of Love (23rd June) celebrates flowers galore - and this costume workshop explores luscious ways for us all to gloriously wear them! We believe that everyone is creative at heart, and love seeing our community co-creating their contributions as part of the massive collective art-project that each night becomes.
For this workshop, everyone is invited to come make a floral headpiece or accessory - and/ or bring your costume along to adorn it with flowers.
We will provide some inspiration and moral support, along with a small selection of flowers, some fixing materials (including hot glue guns, wire, tape, twine, sewing kits, etc.) and a space where we can get creative and connect with each other.
We ask for you to bring along your creative energy and any of the following:
- Dried or fake flowers – we will provide some flowers for small headpieces or accessories, but if you have a particular colour scheme in mind or have fanciful dreams for a costume covered in dense flowers – we ask for you to please bring your own flowers. Additionally, if you have any dried or fake flowers that you would be willing to share with others, any donations would be welcome and gratefully received.
- Any materials or tools that could come in handy (e.g. scissors, needle and thread, hot glue gun, wire, etc.).
- Any parts of your costume that you wish to adorn with flowers such as sunglasses, belts, headbands, harnesses, etc.
To all the talented makers/artists/creatives in our community we hope you can join us and share your knowledge and skills. But do not fear if you have no prior experience! We will support each other to realise our icostume dreams!
