SOLSTICE MEETUP
and FERAL WORKSHOP
We invite you to join us for our next community meetup on the winter solstice, the longest night of the year, just over a week out from our FERAL foray. This free event is for anyone - wider community or core crew to REUNITE or MEET FOR THE 1ST TIME, outside the hustle and bustle of our large events; to converge and connect and discuss and dream on this sacred day of the year.
----- FERAL WORKSHOP ------
In honour of our upcoming event, we’ll also be hosting a special workshop at this meetup to start getting us in touch with our wild inner animals. We will be exploring the question of what wildness means to us, practicing the power of non-verbal communication with each other (how much can you say with one snarl or howl or purr?), exploring animal movement, and generally just getting good and feral!
Winter is a special time for animals (and humans). It’s a time of stillness, rest, groundedness and safety. Ants and ladybirds are burrowing deep into tree trunks to find rest; badgers, squirrels and hedgehogs gathering resources together to go deep underground. Everything feels just a little quieter in the natural world. Yet animals still follow their cycles, geese fly home to their evening resting place a little earlier every evening, just before the light fades.
So before we tuck in to winter’s calm and coziness, let’s mark this solstice together as we prepare for our final 2023 evening of connection and joy on December 30th. We hope you’ll join us whether or not you’re coming to FERAL!
