DJ INTRO: Garance
We’re delighted to announce the 1st of our mighty DJ pantheon of goddesses - Garance.
As complement to the high masculine energy of our warrior viking theme, this is the first time in a while our artists will actually be all-female across all rooms - a smorgasbord of shield maidens, not spinning wooden shields or even vinyl discs, but electronic CDJs - inciting us all to that great battle for joy.
Hailing from Geneva, I’d discovered her many years ago via one of our callouts, and have loved seeing and hearing her progression. We had an awesome catchup chat recently, and she agreed to come ignite our dancefloors; we can’t wait to share her sound with you, and also some of the gorgeous collaborative surprises she and we have planned for her set on the night
Garance emerged from Geneva’s vibrant and deeply inspiring nightlife, during the golden age of squats. That landscape, combined with her musical studies and practice, forged her unique musical sound and universe. Her productions and DJ sets oscillate between progressive house and melodic techno, woven around a common thread of melodic and hypnotic sounds. She has released tracks and remixes on labels such as Einmusika, BeatFreak Recordings, Balance Music (collab with Jamie Stevens), Hive audio, Grey Bar Hotel, Audio Perspective, and Awen, and have earned great feedback and playtime from the likes of Eelke Kleijn, Anthony Pappa, Seth Schwarz, Matan Caspi, Nicolas Rada, Steve Parry, Darin Epsilon, DJ Ruby
She’s performed in clubs/festivals such as Kater Blau (Berlin), Ritter Bützke (Berlin), Berlin Dance Event, Sisyphos (Berlin), Amsterdam Dance Event, Culture Box (Copenhagen), Audio (Geneva), Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Lethargy Festival (Zurich), Hive Club (Zurich), Street Parade (Zurich), Electron Festival (Geneva), Trans Musicales (Rennes), D-Edge (São Paulo), Terraza (Florianópolis).
She just started a residency of 6 months at the Geneva Museum of Art and History, exploring music production; is working for various theatre and cinema projects; and is about to release a new EP.
