Today we’re delighted to announce our 2nd Viking DJ goddess, N.E.O, A.K.A. Annie Oelmann.

I’d first met Annie through friends, though I’d only heard her DJ as her earlier alter-ego, Annie O, and marvelled how, like all good ViQueens, she set the dancefloors aflame. I was thus especially delighted to discover her deliciously deeper & darker side, which she will be bringing in from Berlin, just for us.

N.E.O. is the phonetically similar, but musically antithetical alter ego of Annie O. Annie's happy and funky sound is contrasted by N.E.O.'s melodic journey into deep, dark and progressive sounds, revealing her more pensive, serious, and deeply captivating side.

N.E.O. was birthed at the infamous Rummelsbucht - a legendary intimate Berlin underground club, that sadly no longer exists - and is part of the Berlin Schiffbruch collective.

She actually moved here, to London, in 2006, to work as an investment banker, but had left banking within just six months, swallowed up by London's buzzing and creative atmosphere. She started playing drums for her own live electro band, Rotkäppchen (AKA Little Red Riding Hood), for the next 5 years; and then she started DJing.

She moved back to Berlin in 2012, and quickly gained a few residencies, including at Revolver, Berlin's biggest gay night. She’s now resident DJ (or, as she & her fellow Germans joke, DJane) at KitKatClub - Berlin’s most famous fetish club - where she plays at CarneBall Bizarre, the legendary Saturday night. She also runs a club night called Four Play at KitKat.

The Vikings were Germanic, so we’re delighted to welcome this German superstar back home to our momentary Viking kingdom of London! <3
