Today we welcome our 1st more northerly ViQueen DJ, LIZE - AKA Eliza Hazlerigg - our 1st of 2 natives of these isles, yet whose last name is, so poignantly, Old Norse for Ridge of Birches.

I first came across LIZE via Noisily Festival Of Music & Arts, and think of her as a Noisily resident. She is a core resident at major London electronic music promoter Parable, and has played at many major London venues, supporting international artists including Oliver Koletski, Elif, Sainte Vie, Rodriguez Jr, Made By Pete, Lehar, Eagles & Butterflies, Ivory, My Friend & Hot Oasis, as well as sets further afield at Burning Man, Medicine Festival, and Little People.

As an underground music lover, LIZE has been inspired by the mix of genres and progressive sounds found locally in venues across London, and festivals all over the world. She loves exploring the power of music as a playful tool that connects people, taking them “out of their heads and into a blissful, starry state”.

Her style is eclectic, experimental, playful, warm and beautiful. Expect a range of warm, colourful & empowering melodic beats that cross over into more progressive, rolling bass lines of techno.

LIZE opens the 2nd dancefloor - the room we’ll be calling the CAMP. The venue have shaken it up, and removed almost all of the “City Bar”’s iconic long copper bar (a short stub remains), meaning all that gorgeous head-height is freed from bar to dancefloor, and the full-height space can now become more of the dancefloor that it always wanted to be.

The DJ will no longer be at the end of the space like at the end of a telescope, but in the alcove along the side wall, wrapped more broadly by revellers, at the same level as the crowd, in a space devoted not to kink but to INTIMACY. The CAMP is all about warmth, intimacy, interactivity & playfulness. Characters & personae & dance activators roam and reach out to you. The railings will be draped with dramatic fabric & rope and a host of playful devices, hoops, rings, swings, ropes & shibari accessories for you all to play & get tangled in.
